Helping Writers At Every Stage of Book Publishing

Two Editors and a Comma was formed by two editors with years of experience in major publishing houses. We acquired numerous books for our publishers, worked with literary agents negotiating contracts and reviewing their clients’ work, edited books for content, and oversaw the production and marketing of our books.
While working in the publishing industry, we both recognized that writers have a huge learning curve when it comes to understanding the publishing business, whether it’s in traditional publishing with literary agents and major publishing houses, or in self-publishing with print-on-demand presses and e-books. That observation led us, Betsy Thorpe (left) and Carin Siegfried (right), to create Two Editors and a Comma, which provides local and online workshops.

Topics covered in the workshops include learning how to evaluate good agents from bad and good publishers from scams, honing your writing before putting it out to be published, and providing you with knowledge to make informed decisions that best serve your specific book project.
